Understanding Dental Insurance

Dental insurance can be tricky to understand, especially when coverage varies based on individual plans, employer-provided policies, or personal coverage. At Lee Family Dentistry in Frederick, we help patients navigate their dental benefits with clarity and confidence. Our goal is to make sure you receive the right care and understand how your insurance provider contributes.



We assist by submitting claims on your behalf or providing the necessary paperwork if you'd prefer to handle it yourself. Although insurance companies do not release full benefit details to our office, even with written consent, we do everything we can to guide you through the process. Ultimately, patients are responsible for the cost of services, but we’ll help you avoid surprises by clarifying coverage before starting any treatment.

To help us serve you efficiently, we encourage patients to come prepared with basic insurance information. This helps us verify your benefits and prepare your treatment plan faster. Here are some key questions you can ask your provider ahead of time:

• What is my annual coverage limit?
• Is there a deductible, and how much is it?
  
• Are alternate procedures covered within the same treatment category?
